Although I do not agree with you on marijuana,I can definitely appreciate how you feel. It is true that use of this herb can cause serious problems for some individuals. Your opinions are sensible and from a traditional point of view, are as far as I know accurate. Marijuana is a mood altering drug, no question. Care must be taken if one chooses to use it.

You have a very personable website. Professor David King directed our class to your site to read the "Our Prophesy" but I couldn't find it.

Would you happen to have a copy that you could email me?

I am enrolled at Trent University, in the Indigenous Law course.

Thank you,

I'd also like to add that I'm a descendant of Jean Nicollet and Jeanne Gisis Bahmahmaadjimiwin if that helps at all. It's hard to find much about lineage when it comes to the Anishinaabe side but I definitely want to know more.

Hey there! I came to your website to find out more about my genealogy and how I'm connected to the Lake Nippissing tribe of Ojibwe and Algonquian peoples. Wondering if you have any information on finding genealogical records to find out more? I love the site and you have a lot of useful information here!

I liked the entry about the Creation Story, where Waynaboozhoo asks Jesus, "Where's the tartar sauce and frybread?" Made me laugh sooo hard. I love our People's sense of humor!

Hello. I am Richard Giroux, a lineal descendent of Madeleine Nicolet, the metis daughter of Jean Nicolet and a Nipissing woman (I regret that her name is not preserved).

Although I am many generations removed from my Nipissing nation, I am happy to see that its tribal identity and culture remain.

I found this interesting site at the bottom of the Wikipedia page on "Potawatomi". I reside in Owen Sound, am Caucasian and most of my Friends here are from the nearby Reserves of Neyaashiinigmiing(Cape Croker) and Saugeen(Sothampton). I do have a FB page, in my name above. I like your site and will visit it now and again. I Shared it on FB too.

Hello, I have been doing some geneology work as I have applied for my status. My great great grandfather was Angus Commanda of garden village and so I believe this is my band. I became a crown ward of the courts at 10 years old and had little information about my native roots. A band number would be very helpful for my siblings and I as it has been over a year since we applied for status. If you can help us in this regard we would be very grateful.
I enjoyed the site and learning about our people.
Thank you,

I am a Mi'gmaq from Listuguj, going back to University in 2013, with a major in Political Sciences, especially when it comes to my people, I am referring to all Nations. I have completed my studies on Nov 28/15 with a last paper to write for my professor, on how the Prop Rep,would help our people.
thank you for this site, it is helping me understand on how this system would help, as I have been reading about it and it does have it's pro/cons on it, after reading your post it has helped me more ways than one.

Keep up the good work

Read you blog about the hunt cabins, being allowed anywhere on Crown land. So...following that train of thought... Does this mean we can build any home on Crown lands, and they can't touch us?

Thanks for the info. I am Six Nations Mohawk and presently live in sault ste marie. The MNR try to harrass me because the think i havent the right to hunt and fish in these territories. My family has a history of traveling north america and i insist on my rights to do so. We have to stand together to ensure that our rights are not eroded slowly over time by the government iplementing laws with there version of our rights

Been doing some research for a possible Rotary project and what I've read has left me speechless and feeling kinda hopeless, will stick with it though maybe with Rotary's help I can help to make a little bit of a difference for the students of Pikangikum. Thank you for providing a small glimpse into life in your community.

I just by chance found your web site and enjoyed all of it with one exception. In your favorite movies you didn't mention "Smoke Signals" Now who hasn't yelled "Hey Victor" or told the story of the magical fry bread. Keep up the good work and I will be giving a heads up to your site.
