A group of Native Americans is hoping to raise awareness about the importance of preserving water. They walked through Erie Monday night, via East Lake Road, for the 5th Annual Mother Earth Water Walk. Since its inception, the Water Walk has circled each of the Great Lakes. This year, Lake Erie is the focus. The group started their trek Sunday in Buffalo, and plan to walk all the way around Lake Erie. They’ll pass through Detroit and end in Fort Erie, Ontario. They’re headed to Mentor, Ohio Tuesday, so you may see them if you’re headed west.
